Objectives of the society (from the constitution) ConstitutionClickMe!

To promote the advancement of science and technology, especially in the theory and practice of the tinctorial arts, and textile finishing.

To provide means for the wider dissemination and interchange of knowledge concerning the science and technology of colour and of colouring matters,of their methods of application and of the materials to which they may be applied, and textile finishing.

To encourage education and research in any of all of the above subjects.

And for furtherance of these objects:

  • To hold meetings for the reading of papers, for lectures and for discussions.
  • To do all other such things as may be conducive to the attainment of these objectives.

SDC COMPETITION GRAND FINAL

Global winner of the SDC Student Design Competition Moipone Qekisi, from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa is pictured below with her Artwork titled "My Perfect World".

As winner of the SA leg of the competition, she won R5000 from SADFA (KZN), a trip to Goa, India to attend the Grand Final, from the SDC. As Global winner she has also been awarded GBP1000.00 from the SDC as prize money and the Veronica Bell trophy for her achievement.

We hope the experience of attending such an auspicious event and the exposure she and the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth will receive as a result of her great achievement, will prove to be a springboard to great future successes!
