I'm thrilled to announce that OUR very own Moipone Qekisi, from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth is the Global Winner of the SDC Global Student Design Competition!
The final was held in Goa, India, and as part of her prize, the SDC paid for her trip to attend the Global Finale where she was judged against other national winners listed below, so no mean feat!

On Friday (26 June 2009) night at the awards dinner, Moipone was announced as the global winner of the design competition! I can tell you, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when her name was announced and she was presented with the SDC Colour Design Award 2009 (the Veronica Bell Trophy, picture attached).
You'll find the attached 2 pictures of Moipone Qekisi, South Africa + the SDC president Mike Bartle (centre), 1st runner up Nancy Taplin, UK (left) and 2nd runner up Denise Wong, Hong Kong (right) and the Veronica Bell Trophy which was presented to Moipone.
